CHEERLEADING 101 -- This camp will cover the beginner and basics necessary for ANY cheer program. Learn what each motion is, and should look like, and how to punch them into place. How to approach a jump; execute the jump and the proper landings. Work on the aspects of tumbling and work on the skills needed for cheer tumbling. Learn a dance and work on performance, timing, rhythm and facials. This camp will offer a great foundation for any new cheerleader or anyone interested in learning more about the sport.
DATE OFFERED: JULY 7- JULY 11, 2008; 9AM- 12PM
FLEXIBILITY / STRENGTH & TUMBLING -- This camp will afford each athlete an opportunity to LEARN the importance of conditioning and strengthening each muscle group. Each exercise will be explained and worked thoroughly throughout the week. Some of the more important cardio and conditioning drills will be taught – through games, relays and FUN! Important tumbling execution, technique and drills will be taught and worked throughout the week. Each athlete will learn what each skill is and will be able to start working toward their own goals as cheerleaders.

DANCE CAMP – CHEER DANCE & HIP HOP -- This camp is being taught by one of the BEST in the business – Pedro Ortiz! Athletes will be taught several dances as a works in progress to be fine-tuned and critiqued and polished throughout the week. The focus for this camp will be on both Cheer Dance AND Hip Hop! Come learn to be the best dancer and performer you can and work with the innovative and ever energetic Pedro! This camp will be exciting, fun filled and extreemly challenging to even the very best dancer, all the while catering to those with less experience! FUN FUN FUN!

JUMPS, CHEER & MOTIONS -- This camp will cover the proper technique and execution for each jump! Learn how to get more height and use of your power through drills and conditioning for your legs, hip flexors and upper body. Learn different approaches for jumps as well as perfect your “whip” technique. Each athlete will be taught some cheers to work on performance, selling the cheer, getting the crowd involved as well as proper motion technique with each movement. Motions will be drilled and the focus of the second half of the camp. This is the perfect camp for fine tuning some of the more important aspects to a great cheerleader!

PERFECTING YOUR SKILL FOR TRYOUTS -- This camp will work to refine and fine tune all of the necessary cheer skills! Athletes will work on polish, performance, selling themselves, enhancing THEIR skills and showing their BEST SELVES at their tryouts! Coaches look for that certain something when they cast their rosters! Make SURE you are ready for your tryouts-- come to this camp!!! Work on, fine tune and perfect each skill necessary to turn the head of even the TOUGHEST coach! Mock Tryouts conducted throughout the week to help athletes improve and work on selling themselves in the best possible way with each skill they perform!
