Class Descriptions
NEW CLASS OFFERING- PERSONAL CHEER TRAINER
Michelle McCarty personal trainer – 1 hour course @ eXtreem cheer
Ratio: 1:1
Level appropriate / customized for each athlete
**Parent / Guardian may stay and sit in on the session to help record / retain suggestions and feedback given to the athlete.
Michelle has been a high school Varsity Cheer Coach for 9 years and was a gymnast for 14 years. She is ASEP, AACCA, USAG and First Aid/CPR certified and is also certified USASF through level 5.
WHY THE COURSE
Michelle will assess and work with each aspect of the athlete’s skill level in the various areas of ground bound cheering such as: cardio, motions, jumps, tumbling and dance. Training will be offered to improve case specific muscle groups with stretches and exercises intended to strengthen the athlete’s skills basing, backing or flying. Positive and constructive feedback will be given following each segment of the work session allowing for the athlete to continually work toward self improvement and advancement. Receive valuable exercises, pointers, tips, corrections and subtle ways to improve and work toward becoming the athlete / cheerleader you want to be for your upcoming season. All done one on one – nothing over looked. Improvement is imminent! IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY TO START PREPARING!
COURSE WILL COVER:
Cardio - assessment / cardio work
Motions - work on placement, correct technique, finish motions, snap/punch, material pick up, and confidence
Jumps - learn technique, skills/drills, whip approach, jump placement, amplitude, landings and finish
Tumbling – learn how to make what you are ALREADY able to do…. Sharper, bigger, stronger, better!
Dance – PERFORMANCE! Learn to finish motions/moves, learn to SELL what you have, clean up & gain confidence
Basing – Work on muscle groups to help the “job” - role specific.
Flying – learn stretches, skill assessment, skills/drills, how to hit/look sharp, performance & confidence
Conditioning – working on improving the strength and overall fitness of the athlete
MANDATORY --- Each Athlete should have prepared for each lesson:
1 sideline cheer or chant of their choice
2 eight counts of dance. This does NOT need to be original material, any cheer dance will do. Music optional.
Please note: Tumbling will NOT be taught or advanced in this course. Michelle will review tumbling, give corrections or suggestions on how the athlete can IMPROVE upon what they are already able to do in this area. Tumbling classes are for tumbling advancement.
MINI TUMBLE (Ages 3-7)
12 Max students per class
Ratio 1:4
Teaching fundamentals of cheerleading (jumps, tumbling, motions) with games & FUN!!!
Open to all abilities in this age group
Must be potty-trained :)
BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE TUMBLING
15 Max students per class
Ratio 1:6
Beginner-Fundamental tumbling skills taught, working UP TO the back handspring.
Intermediate-Working back handspring and round off back handspring with or with out spot, and working passes UP TO the back tuck.
SKY HIGH TUCKS
The NEED TO HAVE cheerleading skill!!!
20 Max students per class
Ratio 1:7
Must have a SOLID back handspring and round off back handspring to enroll.
All students will learn the fundamentals of the standing back tuck, and will work to master it!
Also will work round off back tuck, round off back handspring back tuck!
EXTREEM POWER/FLEX & POWER FLEX "LITE"
16 Max students per class

The is the class to take to achieve AMAZING jumps! AMAZING flying skills! AMAZING flexibility for all skills!
Pilates - Plyometrics and Strength Training utilized in this class!! RESULTS ARE INCREDIBLE!
Learn eXtreem conditioning drills, how to get HYPER EXTENDED jumps, and fly with incredible flexibility and control!
FULL THROTTLE
15 Max students per class

MUST HAVE SOLID ROUND OFF BACK HANDSPRING LAYOUT TO ENROLL! (This must be approved by eXtreem Staff)

Always wanted to learn to fly? Need to learn how to base properly and safely? Then Get your Boarding Pass NOW! This unique class offers instruction not taught anywhere else in the area. Improve your skills for All stars, or to WOW your school team at tryouts.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED TUMBLING

Students MUST HAVE strong back handspring and round off back handspring without spot to enroll!
Working skills UP THRU layout, FRONT TUMBLING, creative passes to showcase your skills!
SKILLS & DRILLS STRENGTH TRAINING

This class will teach you the stunt, jumps, and skills you need to succeed. It will also teach you drills to improve your current skills.
CHEER 101 LEARN TO CHEER

Always wanted to cheer but didn't know how to get started, or where to learn the skills you need to make your team? This class will teach you the cheer basics; Stunting, dance, cheer, motions, jumps, everything you need to make your team, whether it's a school team or an all star team.
